If I had to take a wild guess, there’s been a memo among celebrities to go big or go home where beauty moments are concerned. Whether headed to the red carpet or a themed function, the more extravagant the hair — or, in this case, headpiece — the better. So it’s only right that Cardi B served up an alluring moment of her own to celebrate her 30th birthday with the sickest burlesque-themed party, thrown on October 11.

My jaw dropped when the carousel of Cardi B’s costume hit my timeline. She adorned a bedazzled hot-red corset with elegant feathers attached to the back of the bodice. Feathers are also attached to the headpiece completely stacked atop her head, which makes her stance fierce and statuesque. 

Also, peep the Bronx rapper’s sparkly, lengthy claws that glimmer in silver just like the appliqués on her burlesque costume, too. We all know Cardi B never plays it safe when it comes to her manicures.

Can we actually go back to the 2022 Met Gala, where several of our favorite showstoppers were spotted with the most intricate headpieces that completely rivaled their couture fashions? Abstract halos and flaming discs plopped on heads were just a few that stunned us. Later, Lil Nas X took a cue from the others and served a gigantic feather headdress for the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards. Even Megan Thee Stallion recently turned it in a similar feather piece for her carnival costume. 

As we know, Halloween is just around the corner. With countless makeup and costume ideas at our disposal, I think this bomb look has been added to the list for inspiration.
