Integrated design firm SmithGroup (Detroit) opened a new office in Sacramento, Calif., to expand its footprint and  better serve clients and communities throughout the Central Valley.

Arun Kaiwar has joined SmithGroup as a principal to lead the Sacramento office.

The firm also recently opened locations in Atlanta, Houston, and Portland, Ore.
