Sisley Eau de Campagne

Sisley Eau de Campagne

I had to revisit Eau de Sisley No. 2 because my nose keeps coming back to my sample of Eau de Campagne.

Cold and green, No. 2 is in the sharp chypre style of Sisley’s Eau du Soir, seamlessly blended bergamot, jasmine, but with a heavy dose of patchouli in the drydown. You need to love patchouli to love this perfume and everyone around you needs to love it too. Vetiver and cedar lend some dryness and because it’s an eau du cologne it’s not too strong and I like that.

The Eau de Campagne has a nice tomato leaf in the opening, more citrus too, and doesn’t have all that much patchouli in it so I think it’s more subtle and easier to wear, plus it’s said to officially be the first fragrance of perfumer Jean Claude Ellena so it gets lots of love for that. I’ve always loved it and it’s always been on my wishlist, but I probably don’t need any more intense green perfumes in my collection just yet.

Have you tried either of these?

Here’s my review of No. 2.
