Selena Gomez Found the Perfect Your-Nails-But-Better Nail Polish
There is never a wrong time to opt for a manicure that simply echoes your fingernail’s natural nail color. In the past, I have actually arrived at the nail salon with my mind set on a classic French but left with a French-less, your-nails-but-better manicure, all because I loved how good the base color looked by itself.
Selena Gomez has found us a nail polish color that represents just that. She attended the second annual Academy Museum Gala on October 15, where her long-time manicurist Tom Bachik adorned Gomez’s nails with a sheer blush hue that subtly emphasized her natural nail color.
Bachik made the exact nail polish color known to his 550,000 and counting Instagram followers. While he showcased Gomez’s short length on the grid, he described the manicure as simple, short, and chic and revealed that the Mia Secret Gelux Gel Polish in shade Rose Petal was behind this gorgeous, innate set.

Believe it or not, it’s tricky to find a polish that mimics your own nail color exactly. While Gomez chose a gel lacquer, there are also plenty of regular polishes that will let the color of your actual nails peek through. Two coats of the pH7 Beauty nail polish color in shade pH004 will serve up a neutral blush manicure, and if you’re looking for a rich beige with a high shine, look to this year’s Best of Beauty Award winner, OPI Infinite Shine in shade Tanacious Spirit. For an even warmer and deeper hue, the shade Sepia Sunset By Orly will provide the ultimate glossy caramel brown.
