1. Kanye West’s Instagram account restricted for violating its policies

Kanye West’s Instagram account has reportedly been restricted for violating the platform’s policies. According to reports, a spokesperson from Meta confirmed the move, which deleted content from the rapper’s page. While the account is still visible, a restriction has been placed on it. Meta has a policy of putting restrictions on users after repeated violations, which could temporarily prevent the user from sharing posts, sending direct messages, or posting comments.

It isn’t clear what content prompted the platform to restrict Ye’s account, and the Meta rep also would not specify how long his account would be limited. On Friday, October 7, West took to Twitter after being absent from the platform for a while. There, he criticized Meta’s chair Mark Zuckerberg, tweeting, “How you gone kick me off instagram.” On Instagram, Kanye recently posted an exchange purportedly between himself and Diddy in which West used language considered anti-Semitic by other social media users. The post has since been deleted.

The series of events to bid farewell to the music powerhouse’s mother, Indian Picolo, who passed away in July 2022, started with a service of song that was held in her honor in Dublin, Ireland, followed by a funeral in Lagos.

The event was well attended by troupes of Nigerian celebrities comprising music artists, actresses, actors, comedians, and signees of Mavin records. Don Jazzy received an overwhelming show of love from friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry.

3. South Africa: Nasty C hangs out with American rapper Wale

Nasty C is undeniably well acquainted when it comes to international stars and the circle just keeps getting bigger. The rapper recently hung out with American rapper Wale in Hollywood, California, and took to his timeline to share visuals from their meeting. “A legend pulled up on me yesterday.” he captioned the post. Nasty C has been spending a lot of time in the US doing press tours, business meetings, and finishing his album after recently dropping his 8-track mix tape “Ivyson Army Tour” Mixtape.

After signing an exclusive deal with Def Jam Recordings via a joint venture with Universal Music Africa, the 25-year-old has been making an impact beyond the borders of SA, working with American rappers Domani and his father T.I among others. In a recent interview on Shade 45, Nasty C revealed his plans to build a following in America, explaining that while he wanted to do music with his childhood role models, he wanted to work with upcoming artists as well.

4. Don Lemon signs off for final time on primetime CNN Show

On Friday, October 7, Don Lemon bid farewell to his primetime CNN show “Don Lemon Tonight” for the final time in preparation for a switch to a new time slot on the network. The 56-year-old reflected on his last eight years in primetime news, giving an emotional speech during the show’s final episode. “Not goodbye, but certainly the end of an era as we sign off this last broadcast of Don Lemon Tonight, more than eight years, thousands of hours of live TV, historic moments, and tough conversations,” Lemon said. “A lot happened between 10 and midnight, or later.”

Lemon, who began working at CNN as a correspondent in 2006 before joining CNN Tonight as a host in 2014, also watched as clips played of him covering the legalization of same-sex marriage, the Stoneman Douglass High School shooting, the January 6 Capitol insurrection, and more. 5. Ronaldo finally reaches career goal milestone of 700 goals

Cristiano Ronaldo finally scored his 700th goal in club football with a trademark finish for Manchester United against Everton. After coming off the bench for Anthony Martial, who suffered an injury in the warmup, Ronaldo put Manchester United ahead with his 700th goal in club football. The goal ultimately gave the visitors a 2-1 victory at Goodison Park, with an Antony strike having initially canceled out Alex Iwobi’s early opener for Everton.

With Martial now injured, Ronaldo could be back in Erik ten Hag’s thoughts heading into a crucial period of the season. The 37-year-old has only started once for United in the Premier League since the Dutchman’s arrival, though, and Marcus Rashford has also been deployed in the No.9 role ahead of him on several occasions.
