Brandy has been hospitalized following a possible seizure at her home in California. It was reported that paramedics were called to the 43-year-old singer’s home on Tuesday around noon. An anonymous source told the media that she suffered a seizure. She is currently in the hospital with her parents by her side.
The “Full Moon” singer’s hospitalization comes on the heels of her response to her younger brother Ray J’s suicidal cry for help. According to reports, Brandy took to Instagram to offer Ray encouragement and support after Ray posted a suicidal message on Instagram on October 9. “Need you, bro @rayj,” she wrote as she shared a throwback photo of her and the “One Wish” singer from their days on “Moesha.”

Wizkid’s “Made In Lagos” has become the first African album to have a run of 100 weeks on the Billboard World Album Chart. It achieved this feat in the chart week dated October 15. This incredible feat means that the album is only three weeks away from enjoying a run that will span two years on the chart.
“Made in Lagos” reached number one on the Billboard World Album Chart, spending three weeks atop the chart, thus becoming the first Nigerian album to spend multiple weeks at number one. The album also became the longest-charting Nigerian project in the chart’s history. It tops Fela’s “The Black President” which spent 45 weeks on the chart.
3. South Africa: DJ Sithelo slams rumors she received ‘bribes’ from Andile Mpisane’s family to keep quiet about alleged abuse
Sithelo Shozi says she will not fold as she gears up for a court battle against the father of her two children, Royal AM chairperson Andile Mpisane. This came amid speculation she had taken a R20 million ($1 million) bribe to refrain from speaking out about the matter. In early August, the socialite and DJ alleged she had been a victim of gender-based violence (GBV) by Andile.
The mother of three also revealed she had partnered with the NPO Women For Change to raise awareness about GBV and started a petition to be granted a protection order for the safety of herself and her children. The petition had garnered over 55,000 signatures. She took to Instagram stories, saying she stood by her statements and would appear in court on October 31.

The authorities in Nigeria say the number of people killed by floods ravaging the country in recent weeks has risen to more than 500. More than 1,500 others have been wounded, while 1.4 million are displaced. Since the end of July, the West African country has been grappling with a wave of flooding affecting 31 of its 36 states, including the capital, Abuja. The floods are caused by heavy rains and the release of excess water from dams within Nigeria and a major dam in neighboring Cameroon by the authorities.
At a press conference on Tuesday, the permanent secretary of the ministry of humanitarian affairs, Nasir Sani Gwarzo, said tens of thousands of houses and large swathes of farmland have been destroyed. Nigerian authorities are warning that states in the central and southern parts of the country are likely to experience more floods in the coming weeks.
5. Tobi Amusan nominated for Women’s World Athlete of the Year

Nigeria’s 110m hurdler, Tobi Amusan, has been nominated for the 2022 Women’s World Athlete of the Year. With this development, she becomes the first Nigerian ever to receive the nomination. So far, Amusan has had a wonderful 2022, breaking the 100m hurdles world record on her way to gold at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon in a time of 12.12 seconds.
The 25-year-old followed it up with another gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham before regaining her Diamond League Trophy in Zurich in a new meeting record of 12.29s. She is also the African champion and record holder after maintaining her title in Mauritius in June.
Other nominees include Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (Jamaica), Shericka Jackson (Jamaica), Sydney Mclaughlin, Chase Ealey (US), Kimberly Garcia (Peru), Faith Kipyegon (Kenya), Yaroslava Mahuchikh (Ukraine), Shaunae Miller-Uibo (Bahamas), and Yulimar Rojas (Venezuela).
