Quinta Brunson Shines in Rainbow Feathers at the ESPYs

Quinta Brunson ruffled her own feathers last night (in a good way) at the ESPY Awards, wearing a dress made entirely out of multicolored plumes. The rainbow Prabal Gurung minidress was perfectly suited for Brunson, the writer and comedian behind the Emmy-nominated Hulu series “Abbott Elementary,” and was thoughtfully accessorized with bright-pink Stuart Weitzman heels. The end result created a playful and whimsical effect that was still elevated. Brunson seemed to practically float down the red carpet.

Brunson kept the focus on her feathers with a sleek, ’60s-inspired hair flip and makeup that matched the plum undertones of her outfit. Friends and fans alike fell in love with the fluffy, feathered fantasy on her Instagram, with Issa Rae saying, “Quinta! This is gorgeous!!!,” and Amy Schumer calling the look, “Next level.” This colorful outfit shows a more lighthearted side of Brunson, who was recently featured on the digital cover of Essence in regal ivory satin and glamorous gold gowns.

“Life can be dark and horrible, but what makes humans so resilient is their ability to find the light in dark situations,” she said in her Essence interview. “I think that’s the only reason why we’re still on this planet. It’s certainly the only reason Black people are still here. Our ability to shine the light is really strong. That’s really important and I wanted to be a part of providing that.” Check out the photos ahead to see Brunson shining bright on the red carpet, and stay tuned to find out what her next look will be.
