[unpaid/affiliate] I think I say every year that the best time to buy your cashmere is the summer because brands are keen to be rid of left over stock so they can bring in new styles so they drop the prices right down. Cashmere is often timeless in design so one year isn’t much different from another. I think 60% off is as good as it gets so in the midst of the heatwave and covid sweats, I ordered this one from Me + Em.

Look at my sweaty face! I can’t possibly present this to you seriously when I was literally dripping and so anxious to take it off again so I’m showing the warts and all pictures. So, you can see it’s a speckle and I am a bit partial to that kind of knit just to change things up. I had one from Cos a few years ago and if I could buy that again I would – I still have it but it’s really on its last legs.

I just couldn’t put jeans on – my glamorous gardening shorts there! You can see that there is a nice bum level drop on this and its a boxy shape so you can chuck it on over anything at all and you’re immediately in good, cosy style. The sweater is made from Merino and Cashmere which isn’t quite as soft as pure ‘shmere but is certainly comfort stages on from wool alone. *NB the Me + Em website states clearly that it’s 100% cashmere – it isn’t – it’s 90% merino and 10% wool looking at the label.

I love the off white stripe around the neck but you can fold it down to disappear it if you want to – I would wear it both ways actually because a higher neck on an icy day is definitely worth having, but I prefer it rolled down a bit. It’s reduced from £250 to £100 HERE and to me that feels very reasonable for cashmere. I keep all my cashmere separate from my other clothes in a zip bag because there is nothing a moth likes more than a bit of deliciously expensive and soft fabric – it’s a fine dining experience for them. Always put your cashmere in the freezer for 48 hours before adding it to your other cashmere.

I am absolutely heaps better so I’ll spend the weekend catching up on photography and very much hope normal service will resume next week. Thank you for all your good wishes and patience.
