Leopard print and khaki green – the perfect combination for cool summer days — That’s Not My Age

The tickets have pinged into Mr TNMA’s inbox. Mick Jagger has recovered from Covid and we are going to see The Stones in the Park. Obviously, it won’t be the same without Charlie Watts but after three gig-free years, I am excited to experience live music again. Plus, a little trepidatious about the potential for this to turn into a super-spreader event. We have been so careful for so long – but it’s outdoors, in Hyde Park, in summer and so hopefully I won’t be having my 19th Nervous Breakdown…

Khaki green is a year-round favourite but I particularly like it in summer. There’s nothing drab about olive, this versatile neutral provides a great backdrop for pattern and colour and is perfect with leopard print. The combination of sturdy and snazzy, is always style winner. You know how fond I am of a chic juxtaposition, see also: cargo pants and a beautiful blouse, a military jumpsuit and gorgeous pink blazer. For the 2022 version of Khaki Malarkey, I’m wearing a favourite men’s shirt (MHL sample sale) with Jigsaw leopard print trousers (a generous gift). There’s a cool, cropped leopard trouser, too. And Boden is always good for fancy pants.

If the weather behaves, I’ll wear the shirt open over a white vest top. Just add love beads!

Though I prefer pattern and print on the bottom half (it’s easier to ignore) you could flip the script and go for a leopard print blouse and olive green trousers.

STYLE NOTES: my own/ old shirt and Old Skool Vans (ComfyCush). The leather bag is still available from the TNMA Edit – my collaboration with Mimi Berry ( I bought it!) and the leopard print trousers are a gift from Jigsaw. All my own silver jewellery.
