Keeping Equity at the Forefront in Telehealth
Just a few years ago, telemedicine was limited and providers were often skeptical. Then, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 spurred growth of telemedicine use. Telemedicine’s benefits, however, go beyond pandemic care. Data has shown that the availability of telemedicine results in fewer missed appointments. Other studies have found that satisfaction with telemedicine is similar to that for in-person visits, and virtual care has been found to be as effective as a clinical visit.
