Chanel Holiday 2022 Demander La Lune – The Beauty Look Book
Chanel Holiday 2022 Demander de Lune Collection has arrived and I have a look at the holiday newness today! I received some pieces in PR and also ordered a few more items to review. I tried everything in the holiday collection except 2 things (skipped one lip product and the eye gloss duo). If you’ve been waiting for swatches I hope you find this review helpful!
Everything is now available at Chanel.com. Also at other retailers like Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue and more.
Eclat Lunaire Oversize Illuminating Face Powder
There are two oversized highlighters called the Eclat Lunaire Oversize Illuminating Face Powder ($88). Both of them have a warm undertone. 887 Or Rose is the lighter option and pulls like a light warm rose gold on my skin. 897 Cuivre Dore is the deeper option and is very yellow-gold. These have a metallic finish, texture is smooth almost like a gelee-powder but with a powder finish. They adhere beautifully to the skin. I recommend using a light touch as they’re very pigmented and metallic.

Foundation shade is the Chanel Les Beiges Water Fresh Complexion Touch in B40 (review here), sweater from Sezane Gaspard Jumper (wearing XXS), Lip Color is Rouge Allure Laque 88 Rose Mystere

Holiday 2022 Les 4 Ombres
Chanel launched one eyeshadow quad in the Les 4 Ombres ($65) 937 Ombres de Lune. This one also pulls very warm with a multi-dimensional copper rose shimmer, neutral tan beige shimmer, sparkling warm yellow gold and a satin medium brown. Pigment is beautiful and easy to build and layer. The overall color theme pulls a lot warmer than I’m used to wearing but once you add liner and smoke out the dark brown shade it comes together in a warm holiday look. I love the embossed detailing on all the items. Chanel always adds those extra touches that make their products beautiful and special.
For a gold/bronze tone eye I prefer the Tweed Cuivre (reviewed here). For holiday I do think the Ombres de Lune is unique, especially for what we usually see from Chanel. If you’re fair skin this will pull a lot warmer on you. I think it would look stunning on deeper skin tones.
Quality, texture, color payoff are all top notch. Whether or not this quad is for you depends on whether or not you like warm golds.
Holiday Lip Colors
I ordered one of the two new Rouge Allure Laques ($42) in 88 Rose Mystere and I think it’s a very pretty muted rose with a hint of gold shimmer. It’s the perfect medium rose tone I think you can wear all year.
There are two new Rouge Allure L’Extrait Lipsticks ($55). Chanel has a bold red with 817 Rouge Selene and a brown plum red with 827 Brun Lunaire. Both have an incredibly smooth texture with rich color payoff. I do think they are dupeable especially with the other existing Chanel colors. You may want to shop your stash.
Holiday 2022 Nails
Last we have a look at the 3 nail colors for holiday. There are two Chanel Le Vernis ($30) shades in 965 Clair de Lune is a metallic olive shimmer and 963 Super Lune is a red that pulls a dark wine color on the nails. Both have smooth flawless coverage. I love that the olive shimmer has a smooth streak-free finish.
Chanel also launched a new shade of Le Top Coat ($30) in 347 Etoile. This is a superfine gold shimmer. It’s definitely sheer enough that it’s a top coat. The shimmer is fairly dense so you only need one coat. I tried it on it’s own and swatched it next to the Dior Holiday Top Coat in Cosmic for comparison. If I layer on 6 coats I can get enough pigment to cover the nail but it’s still relatively transparent.
Overall I think the Chanel Holiday 2022 collection is beautiful. I don’t know that this will be for everyone as all the tones pull on the warmer side. Even though I own so many highlighters, I think both Or Rose or Cuirvre Dore are the stand outs in this launch.
Available now at Chanel. Have you checked out the holiday launch yet? What did you think?
