Black Booties Under $100 Styled 4 Ways!
Black booties are a must-have in every woman’s fall wardrobe. And you probably already have that basic pair of black booties that you love and wear with everything. But you might want to add another pair to your wardrobe that has a bit of edge. The trendy black lug-sole booties I’m sharing below are SO good…They instantly transform the look of your outfit and add a cool, modern, and even youthful touch. It’s amazing what one little pair of boots can do! Just trust me, you’ll thank me later. And they’re under $100!
Steve Madden Lug-Sole Booties
Before we get to the outfits, I want to talk about these Steve Madden booties…if you’ve been an email subscriber for a while, you’ve seen these booties before. I bought last year’s version and wore them so much while we lived in Spain that I decided to buy this year’s version too! I love the chunky platform lug sole, rounded toe, stretchy fabric around the ankle, and block heel (2.5”). Chunky soled booties are very on-trend right now and these are a great option to try the trend for under $100. They’re really comfortable and easy to walk in. (They can be trickier to get on and off. I wouldn’t recommend these for wider feet.) By the way, if you prefer a shorter shaft height on your booties, this pair is very similar, by the same brand, and will give you the same on-trend look.
Sharing some ideas of how to style them below…

Look #1) Booties with Tapered Jeans
Since these booties are sock-style at the top, they go perfectly under any type of jean style…including tapered or straight jeans like this pair by AG. They have a super flattering, slim straight fit that’s perfect for those of you who love skinny jeans but are looking for an updated denim silhouette. I love the medium-light wash and high rise. I have them cuffed one time but they would fit over the boots without the cuff too. On my top half, I’m wearing a basic white tee underneath a cool hoodied blazer. This blazer is older so I linked a similar option. But I love how the hood adds a little more casualness to the look compared to a more traditional blazer.

Look #2) Booties with Black Jeans
In this look, I’m wearing a pair of cropped, high-rise black Good American jeans that I can already tell will be a go-to pair of jeans for me this fall. They run really small, so I’d size up 1-2 sizes. I’m wearing a 27 (normally a 26) and they’re still a little snug. With the jeans, I have on a Jonathan Simkhai sweater jacket. This is a really cool piece. It has a waist-defining detail that’s very flattering and a small peplum that’s great for hiding a tummy.

Look #3) Booties with Flare Jeans
This is probably my favorite look on this list! I’m wearing a Veronica Beard striped blouse that buttons at the side of the shoulder and has a high neck. It’s a really chic and lovely piece and I absolutely love it. It’s a specialty piece you probably don’t already own, but you could swap it for a nice button-down or blouse. I paired it with a black oversized IRO blazer. Oversized blazers are very on-trend right now and this is a gorgeous option, but there are tons of budget-friendly options out there too. On my bottom half, I’m wearing some of my favorite Mother jeans. They are a cropped flare that is SO flattering and comfortable. Just trust me…multiple Team Busbee members own these jeans and love them!

Look #4) Booties with Leggings
If you’ve ever found yourself squeezing in a workout right before having to run errands, meet a friend for coffee, or pick up the kids from school, this is the look for you! Let’s say you have on a pair of black leggings and a black sports bra or tank/tee for your workout. All you have to do is throw on an oversized sweater and these cool edgy booties and you’re good to go! I went with this gorgeous green AllSaints sweater and then added a sporty Blanc Noir jacket. I love the color and raw hem of the sweater. It’s super comfy and comes in a few colors. My jacket is older but I linked a very similar option by the same brand that will give you the same look and feel.

Bonus Look!
Of course, I have a bonus for you! If you’re worried about your hips, butt, and thighs showing, try a longer sweater or an oversized button-down underneath like I did above. It’s essentially the same as Look #4, but a little more polished and sophisticated. Now you look cool, edgy, sporty, modern, and not like you just came from the gym at all!
