Brad Pitt Skirt Alert!
This morning, we reported on the Brad Pitt-shaped linen superstorm that hit in Paris over the weekend. Now, we are live with a breaking update that the flaxen tempest has shifted skies over to Berlin, where Pitt and his Bullet Train co-stars are promoting their new film.
However, here in the German capital, the storm takes a new form: a linen skirt set.
Over the 96-ish hours of the Bullet Train promo tour thus far, GQ’s August cover star has worn several versions of the same slouchy stitched linen suit, each look comprising a loose buttoned jacket and baggy drawstring pants but in different hues (Creamsicle orange, khaki, slate gray, pale pink) and with distinct detailing. On Tuesday evening, the actor tweaked the formula with a raw-hemmed, knee-length skirt and matching cocoa-brown jacket, which he paired with a ruddy button-down shirt and a pair of black Stylmartin biker boots. If you were previously unaware that Brad Pitt has a tattoo of a rhinoceros on his right shin, consider yourself informed.
Certainly, variations on a theme is certainly an efficient red carpet wardrobe strategy—and a practical one, too, when that theme includes lightweight fabric to accommodate the historic heat wave hitting Europe right now. (As of late, Chris Pine and Steven Yeun have been advancing the easygoing linen suit agenda stateside.) And while celebrities don’t always factor the weather into how they dress up for summertime events—a suit is a suit, no matter how breathable—it’s nice to see some solid inspiration for maximum airflow.
