Alison Brie demonstrated power clashing at the 2022 ESPYs. The actor attended the July 20 award show in Los Angeles wearing one of her boldest outfits to date: a black Roberto Cavalli minidress featuring both floral and punk motifs.

Plucked from the brand’s fall 2022 collection, the top of the dress has long sleeves and strong shoulder pads, while the skirt has open side panels each connected by three belts with silver buckles and grommets. Leather flowers in pastel green, black, and neutrals run along the front of the entire garment. The top and bottom are also joined at the midriff by a single hoop.

If this outfit sounds busy, that’s because it is, unapologetically so. (It is Roberto Cavalli, after all.) The accessories, however, were kept pretty simple, all things considered. Styled by Erin Walsh with assistance from Bota Abdul and Annie Leigh Easton, Brie also wore black tights, matching Giuseppe Zanotti platforms, and Rachel Katz jewelry consisting of a few rings.

The award show wasn’t without other statement makers on the red carpet. Ciara, for example, wore a black Sabina Bilenko gown with a plunging neckline and built-in crystal bra. Chloe Kim wore a blue Versace dress featuring a high slit, a cutout at the décolleté, and several of those iconic gold safety pins.
