NewYork-Presbyterian taps former Cleveland Clinic London CEO for executive role

Donley will assume his new role Jan. 9. He is succeeding Laura Forese, who is retiring after nearly four decades with the system.
Donley will be responsible for reaching the health system’s operating targets and implementing its vision and culture across the organization, according to the release.
He “is an experienced leader, educator and innovator, whose vision and commitment to excellence, quality and compassion will be a tremendous asset to our health care system, our patients and the communities we serve,” Steven Corwin, president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian, said in the release.
Donley joined Cleveland Clinic as an orthopedic surgeon in 1996 and has held several leadership positions in the health system. Most recently as its London CEO, he led the development and opening of Cleveland Clinic’s first hospital in Europe, according to the release.
He graduated from the University of Notre Dame then from the University of Michigan Medical School with distinction, and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Michigan. He also attended and completed an advanced management program at Harvard Business School, according to the release.
NewYork-Presbyterian operates 10 hospitals across the greater New York area and about 200 clinics.
