Review: How Good Is Pretty Vulgar Nightingale Eyeshadow Palette? – Style Rants
If you have been following Style Rants for a while, you know I particularly like to review brands that aren’t that well-known, read my review of Focallure products here. Today also, I’d like to talk about a makeup brand that you might have never heard of before. Pretty Vulgar cosmetics, the name itself is intriguing enough. Once I browsed through all of their products, I decided to try their highly-reviewed Pretty Vulgar Nightingale Eyeshadow Palette.
What Is Pretty Vulgar Nightingale Eyeshadow Palette?
The palette has 12 eyeshadows and is perfect for those makeup lovers who prefer a dramatic look. The shades are accurately curated to create a dark, sultry look where for an ultra-glam night out. The formula of these eyeshadows is highly-saturated and long-lasting. The kit has both matte and shimmer colors to choose from.
Packaging: I am a big fan of compact packaging and Pretty Vulgar Nightingale Eyeshadow Palette is exactly that. The kit is of brown color, it looks so cute that it can also be mistaken for a small diary. When you open the kit, on one side is a rectangular mirror and on the other side are eyeshadows. The eyeshadows are filled in a cage-shaped hole, once again the whole packaging is just so adorable. The palette has eyeshadows in three main categories; pearl, shimmer, and matte.
Pigmentation: Nightingale palette also suffers from the same problem that many other brands do. Some of its eyeshadows are highly pigmentated while others are not so much. The most problem lies within the first row. To work with those eyeshadows, you’d need to be heavy with the quantity.
Blending: The highly pigmented eyeshadow blended fine. If you are used to of eyeshadows blending rather quickly, mostly within three strokes then you’d find this time-taking. They do blend well but just take some effort to get it done right.
Fallout: This is probably the best thing about this palette, the eyeshadows don’t fall out. If like me, you are one of those who like doing eye makeup first, then you know how annoying fallout can be. I have really seen absolutely no fallout from this palette.
Price: The price of this eyeshadow palette might look expensive to some, but it does provide value for the money you’ll spend.
Final Remarks
Undoubtedly, the palette isn’t the best out there but it is also not that bad. Especially considering that it’s a cool-tone eyeshadow kit. The kind of look this palette creates can come across as outdated to some, think back to the early 2000s look of smokey eye makeup that was paired with glossy lips. I feel this is a palette if you are into heavy eye makeup. The colors of eyeshadows are good enough to give you that smokey look you desire. It would also be great if you regularly like doing dramatic looks, that way you won’t spend all your money on expensive mono-shades which are often of the best quality. You can perfect your skills with this kit and then try out something else.
