The Best 20 Items in the Sale!

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is officially open to everyone! Today is the start of Public Access so even if you’re not a Nordstrom cardholder and didn’t have early access, you can shop RIGHT NOW!

Please note: This is a highly shopped sale and while there are some restocks, many products sell out quickly. I will try to update posts with the most recent, relevant information.

Size reference: I’m 5’4″ and wear a size 2-4, Small & 26 jeans. Denise is 5’5″ and wears a size 6.

#1) Halogen Puff Sleeve Square Neck Sweater

I love the puffed sleeves and square neck on this Halogen sweater! It runs large, and I ended up getting an XXS. Even though it’s fitted, it feels body skimming. I was worried about the puff sleeves under a jacket, so I tried out the Avec Les Filles houndstooth jacket (#14 on this list ;)) and didn’t have a problem.

#2) Dolce Vita Sandals

The Dolce Vita sandals I’m wearing are a wear-now piece that could transition into fall depending on where you live. I love the knotted details, flared block heels (that are easy to walk in), and perfect neutral color. I’m wearing the color Café Stella but they come in 6 other colors.

#3) Free People Sweater

This mint green Free people sweater will be a heavy hitter when it gets cooler! I love the color for lightening up a fall/winter look, it’s really comfortable, and it perfectly frames my necklaces. It’s also like the goldilocks of sweater lengths…it’s a little cropped, but it’s not too short, and it’s not too long! It also comes in black, blue, and beige and runs true to size.

#4) Sam Edelman Mixed Media Trench

This is one of my favorite pieces from the sale! How cool is this trench by Sam Edelman?! I love the green and black color combo and the leather and wool blend contrast. It’s just such a modern, standout piece. And I will say it looks a lot better in person than it does in the online pictures. I got a size 4 so I could layer under it.

#5) BB Dakota Cora Long Sleeve Dress

Do you remember the black BB Dakota dress from last year that was very similar to this? Well, this year it’s back with a few upgrades including a more defined cinched waist and button detailing. The material is the same great lightweight, breathable material from last year though! It runs a little small so you could size up one size if you like more room (and length).

#6) Paige Genevieve Flare Jeans

These dark wash Paige jeans are super versatile and SO flattering…I’m talkin’ legs for days! I love the wider leg and high rise that make them universally flattering for all body shapes. They do have a 31.5” inseam, which is perfect for me but might not work if you’re taller. BUT, the next pair of jeans is perfect for taller women…

#7) Frame Le High Flare Jeans

I featured these Frame flare jeans in my first impressions of the NSale video as an option for taller ladies. They’re really long (34” inseam) so if you’re petite, you have to wear them with heels or hem them. They worked perfectly with the Schutz platform heels I’m wearing though…which I talk about more in #17.

#8) BB Dakota Green Faux Leather Blazer

I love this cool BB Dakota faux leather blazer! The faux leather looks and feels like real leather, the color is perfect for fall, and the fit is SO good. It’s meant to have a more oversized fit but I went with an XS so it was slightly more fitted. It also comes in a pretty cognac color. You can throw this blazer on over a tee and jeans for an effortlessly cool look that actually is effortless! And the best part…it’s only $65!

#9) Rag & Bone Retro Sneakers

Looking for a comfortable, high-quality, and stylish pair of sneakers? These Rag & Bone retro sneakers are perfect! They’re just a really cool pair of sneakers! I’m wearing the black option but I also ordered them in the Light Sand Suede color.

#10) Vince Booties

I wasn’t able to get a close-up photo of these booties in the store but they’re a wonderful pair of black booties! These sleek black Vince booties have a low block heel (2.5”) that makes them super easy to walk in. And I love the on-trend square toe but know that not all of you are a fan. These boots run a tiny bit narrow on me because of my bunion so I sized up half a size. By the way, if you prefer a rounded toe, check out these booties by Steve Madden. I talk about them more in #19 too.

#11 ) Rag & Bone Wool Fedora

Rag & Bone makes the most high-quality hats. I’ve tried other brands and they just don’t last as long, look as nice, or fit my head as well. I love the camel color of this hat for fall!

#12) Veronica Beard Brown Knee High Boots

Looking for a basic pair of knee-high boots? There weren’t a ton of options in the sale this year but I ordered these beautiful brown Veronica Beard boots and love them. They’re a great basic with a lower heel and the perfect brown color. They also come in black.

#13) Argento Vivo Hoops

Ever woman needs a classic pair of everyday hoops. These Argento Vivo hoops come in silver and gold, 14-karat gold plated, and only $45!

#14) Avec Les Filles Houndstooth Coat

This  Avec Les Filles houndstooth jacket is a standout! I love the print. If you like to add a pop to your look but don’t want to wear colorful prints, this is a wonderful, neutral option. I went with a small but wasn’t able to try on the XS. Either way, it’s definitely a more relaxed, oversized fit. I’m wearing it buttoned up but it also looks great unbuttoned and open.

#15) Flat-Top Celine Sunglasses

There are so many great designer sunglasses available in the sale this year. I love these Celine flat-top sunglasses for adding a fun, sporty addition to a look!

#16) BB Dakota Sweater Dress

Looking for a date night look? This BB Dakota cutout sweater dress is perfect! It’s fitted, but the material is pretty thick so you feel secure and don’t see any lumps or bumps. The cuff is also fitted, which created a very subtle balloon sleeve. And of course, I love the small puff shoulder! It runs a little small so you could size up one size. And yes, you can wear a regular bra with it…yay!

#17) Schutz Platform Heels

With the dress, I’m wearing a pair of Schutz platform heels. Schutz is a wonderful shoe brand with classic and trendy options. These platform heels are on the trendier side but they’re very comfortable and SO chic and cool!

#18) AG Jeans

Remember these jeans from last year? They were a best seller and this year, they’re back If you weren’t able to get them before they sold out last year, now’s your time! They’re slim boyfriend jeans perfect if you’re ready to dip your toe in the more relaxed-fit jeans trend without going all in. They’re also a great length (I’m 5’4”). They run true to size, I’m wearing a 26.

#19) Steve Madden Holley Boots

I bought last year’s version (photo above) of these Steve Madden boots and wore them SO much while we lived in Europe. They’re super comfortable, a little trendy, and a great basic (with some edge) if you don’t already have a pair of black booties in your closet. They’re also under $85, come in two other colors, and run true to size.

#20) NeuBrow Serum Set

Thicker brows are definitely IN! A thicker, fuller, more natural brow is much more youthful. Did you over tweeze in the 90s’ like I did!? My brows were SO thin. I’ve grown mine back over 6+ weeks using NeuBrow growth serum. My brows have grown 2-3 times thicker and I’m loving it! A quick note about this serum is that you have to consistently use it.

#21) Halogen Tank

I was SO excited to see that this Halogen tank is part of the sale! This is one of Team Busbee’s favorite basics. I think almost all of us own this tank in multiple colors. It’s the perfect basic tank to wear on its own or layered underneath shirts, sweaters, jackets, etc. It’s lightweight, breathable, and so versatile. I also love the raw edge detail that makes it a basic with a twist!

#22) Vince Black Dress

Everyone needs the perfect LBD and this Vince dress is a wonderful option. The wrap-inspired silhouette and v-neckline are super flattering! This would also be a great work dress if you work in an office. And it looks SO good on Denise, doesn’t it?! For those of you who are new here, Denise is my lovely YouTube co-producer.

#23) Theory Silk Blouses

Last but certainly not least, is this gorgeous silk blouse by Theory. Denise tried on the camel and burgundy colors and they are both beautiful! This is a versatile, high-quality blouse you can wear to work with dress pants, to dinner with jeans and pumps, or running errands with sneakers.

Perennial Best Sellers

There are items that are best sellers every year… I don’t share them anymore because I already own them and my mission is to show you new, fresh, exciting pieces that aren’t repetitive. BUT, if you don’t already own these, some of my favorites are linked below.
