I am very excited to see the Barbie movie when it comes out next July (as in July 2023). Really, I am. But does anyone feel like they can’t go five minutes without some kind of Barbie-related internet hullabaloo? Yeah, same. Much as I’m stoked to see Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as America’s plastic sweethearts Barbie and Ken, I could definitely do with less teasing, considering I have to wait a whole year to see this film. 

That said, I did just score some on-set tanning secrets you’ll be delighted to hear if you’re pasty and prone to burning like I am. According to Kimberley Nkosi, the film’s tanning artist, two staple tanning products were used to transform Gosling into Ken — both of which are pretty affordable picks you can use on yourself at home. 

The reason I was keen to know what those two products were? Take a look at what Ryan Gosling normally looks like, sans suntan.

Now, take a look at Ken. Are these really the same person? I can’t be sure.
